C4 and Colorbeam Announce the Completion and Release of the Colorbeam Native Certified Lighting Driver

"Control4’s new tunable color lighting solution enables partners to delight their clients by designing complexlighting scenes in a variety of temperatures and colors that are activated by the press of a button, a voice command, a pre-programmed schedule or even based on the position of the sun to support circadian health.

We are thrilled that Colorbeam has developed Control4 Certified drivers with these color tuning capabilities for their fixtures. Colorbeam fixtures combined with the Control4 smart living platform will give partners even more options to create lighting ‘magic’ for their customers.
Lighting has become a significant growth opportunity for integrators around the world, and we are pleased to offer Control4 partners a new Colorbeam certified driver enabling Control4’s full color control capabilities to make it simple to integrate Colorbeam into Control4 systems.” Jeff Thomas, VP of Lighting Products at Control4.

It’s been a pleasure working with the team at C4 over the past year as we develop products and solutions that enhance the lighting experience for our mutual customers. We look forward to demonstrating the Colorbeam/C4 solution at Lightapalooza this week in Arizona. Maurizio Gaudio, CTO at Colorbeam Lighting.

A few highlights

  • The driver works with the new V2 software in Colorbeam’s DMX Gateway.
  • Fully supports the new Control4 User Interface for lighting available since OS 3.3.0, including the color wheel for RGB loads as well as color temperature for RGBW and WW loads.
  • Automatically installs the required loads in the Control4 project based on the Colorbeam setup configured in the Colorbeam DMX Gateway.
  • Includes an innovative approach for managing RGBW loads, providing the user with enhanced control over the interaction between the RGB and the W LEDs.
  • Supports Colorbeam’s implementation of circadian lighting via special presets manageable by the user.
  • Certified by Control4 and is available in the Control4 Online Driver Database.
