It's no longer just about what a fixture looks like — it's about what we can do with the light. Founded in 2016 by Michael Teolis and Maurizio Gaudio, Colorbeam Lighting is revolutionizing the architectural lighting industry by transitioning homes and commercial spaces to a low-voltage infrastructure that delivers better, healthier, and more productive light. As long-standing owner-operators of a low-voltage audio-visual company in Montreal, Mike and Maurizio recognized that the emergence of LED technology presented a unique opportunity — to eliminate traditional 120V wiring over Romex and replace it with a cleaner 48V DC system, powering fixtures over a single CAT6 network cable.

It all started with redefining power requirements.

In doing so, Colorbeam essentially created a new market opportunity — enabling AV and low-voltage technology integrators to enter the architectural lighting space. Today, the company works with resellers of all types across North America, and continues to expand its relationships with professional specifiers, healthy home builders, and wellness consultants.

Mike brings over twenty-five years of executive sales, marketing, and business development leadership in the audio-visual industry. His experience building sales teams and distribution channels is driving growth for Colorbeam, its resellers, and specifier partners. Mike has a clear vision for the company: leading the transition of architectural lighting to a low-voltage infrastructure, and being recognized in the wellness space as a brand that makes a genuine, positive impact on people's health.

Maurizio Gaudio

Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer

With over twenty-five years across sales, technical, and engineering roles in the AV industry, Maurizio leads Colorbeam's product and technology initiatives. His deep expertise in systems deployment and his drive to always be innovating allow him to develop products that resellers can install, commission, and support effectively. Heavily informed by emerging science on artificial light and its impact on human health, Maurizio's vision is clear: leverage science and technology to deliver lighting that makes a real difference in people's lives.
